Introduction - Definition

To understand the significance of the items in HCLE one needs to have a way of thinking about education and learning as a whole. This page explores modern research into "Ontologies". Here's how Wikipedia explains what ontology is:
  • Ontology is the metaphysical study of the nature of being, becoming, existence, or reality, as well as the basic categories of being and their relations. Traditionally listed as a part of the major branch of philosophy known as metaphysics, ontology deals with questions concerning what entities exist or can be said to exist, and how such entities can be grouped, related within a hierarchy, and subdivided according to similarities and differences.

So this page is about the 'basic categories' of educational being and their relations. We'll start with a list of links to what scholars are doing in 2014. Then maybe we'll add some original thoughts...
